Have you ever wondered how various brands got their names? I have and was therefore happy when i stumbled upon an article about it (http://stocklogos.com/topic/how-famous-companies-got-their-names). Below you will find a few that I found interested and if you'd like to read about the other just click on the link above!

The name Lego is actually a combination of the Danish "Leg Godt" which means to "play well". It also means "I put together" in Latin but apparently the Lego Group claims that this is only a coincidence.

Reebok is a nice South African one and originates from the Afrikaans spelling
of "Rhebok" which is a type of African Antelope.

This brand's original concept was "sky-peer-to-peer" which then later
morphed into "skyper" and ended up being "skype".

Sony was derived from the Latin word "Sonus" which means sound and "Sonny" which is a slang word used by the Americans to refer to a bright youngster.

Starbucks was named after "Starbuck" - a character
in Herman Melville's novel Moby-Dick.
